A vent cowl is a terminating cap-type fitting installed at the top of a vent pipe in SWR plumbing to allow air to circulate through the drainage stack, helping neutralise air pressure and release sewer gases safely above the roofline.
Allows air to enter and exit the drainage system, preventing vacuum or pressure buildup and helping fixtures drain smoothly.
Promotes safe release of sewer gases out of the plumbing system, reducing foul odours within the building.
The cowl’s design — often with an over-hanging or slotted top — deflects rainwater and blocks leaves, dust, and other debris from entering the vent pipe.
Some cowls include wire mesh to prevent insects, birds or small animals from getting into the plumbing stack.
Made of corrosion-resistant, weather-stable PVC-U that is UV-resistant and suitable for rooftop and exposed installations.
Designed for easy self-fit installation onto SWR vent pipes using solvent cement, ensuring a secure and leak-proof joint.
Available in common SWR pipe diameters such as 63 mm, 75 mm, 90 mm, 110 mm, and 160 mm to match standard vent lines.
